My name is Tim Burton, and I, along with Mark Beavan, founded the firm on 1st January 1987 (Actually it was the 2nd, as we were both recovering from hangovers on the 1st !).
We commenced trading from my front room in the house in which Gareth and Anna were brought up in Hough Lane, Anderton.
After 18 months trading and having attracted a lot of new business, we moved to a small suite of offices in Castle just outside the town centre. Business continued to increase and so in 2002 we moved to our current location on the high street.
I genuinely feel that BB is different from most accountancy practices, and obviously I have come across many since I began my career in 1975. The practice as it is today is exactly what Mark and I envisaged when we set out back in 1987, friendly, professional, forward thinking and above all completely on the same wavelength as our clients; each one of which we value greatly.
These days I tend to deal with the smaller sole trader/partnership/one man limited company clients and leave the ‘higher end’ businesses to Gareth, my son and co-director.
Away from work my great passions are Manchester United who I have supported for over 50 years having attended my first game in 1963, and who have cost me a small fortune in travels all over the UK and Europe, my four wonderful grand children and my wife Deb. We both love walking in the Lakes which is where we like to spend our leisure time with our 2 dogs O’Shea and Ziggy.
