The essential guide to creating an ultimate Facebook cover photo
Welcome to our essential guide to creating an ultimate Facebook cover photo. Here at Burton Beavan, we understand that it is important for people to visit your profile and be impressed with what they see. The Facebook cover photo is likely to be the first thing that catches their attention with your page and that’s why we have created this guide to creating an ultimate Facebook cover photo.
One key thing that you need to remember is that the cover photo space allows you to include a unique image that represents your page. Once you have created this photo it is also good to change your cover photo about regularly, that way it means people coming back to your page get to see something a little different every time they visit. Here at Burton Beavan we have 7 values that we follow each day and we have incorporated these into 7 different Facebook cover photos which we change about regularly.
When designing/choosing your cover photo you need to bear in mind that the best specification for the size of the picture is 851 X 315 pixels. If the image is any smaller then it will be rescaled and may become distort. Any larger and the image will be resized to fit; however, this does not guarantee all of the picture will be displayed. Possible cover photos may include:
- Pictures of your ideal audience
- Something that defines your brand
- The products which you have to offer
- Pictures of the teams within your business (e.g. sales team, recruitment team, etc.)
Cover photos are best when they have a mixture of both text and images, too much of one may make the image look unimpressive and your page will be less attractive to visit! You need to make them colourful and creative, after all this is at the top of your profile, and if it’s not interesting will people actually scroll down to see what you have to offer?
